South Carolina now has a website the state government intends to be a one-stop shop for COVID-19 related information. The website, accelerate.sc.gov, is part of the Accelerate SC group formed by Gov. Henry McMaster tasked with coming up with recommendations for reopening the state’s economy after businesses closed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, which is sweeping the globe.

As a part of the state's preparation and response to COVID-19, SCDHHS is announcing several policy changes and resources to protect the health and well-being of South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid members by ensuring ongoing access to care. SC Department of Commerce

Non-Essential Business Listing :
The SC Emergency Management Division and the SC Department of Commerce have developed a list of industries deemed “non-essential” that closed temporarily effective Monday, April 6, 2020. “Non-essential” businesses, venues, facilities, services, activities, and retail stores will be closed to non-employees and will not be open for access or use by the public or shall not take place. These include businesses where access is limited and based on membership. Effective Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., businesses not identified on the Non-Essential Businesses Listing at the link below must limit the number of customers allowed to enter the premises, ensure social distancing, and implement sanitation methods. Approximately 26% of the general population in South Carolina is enrolled in Medicaid. Using the CDC's Social Vulnerability Index we examine and attempt to identify vulnerable Medicaid-enrolled communities that may need support in recovering following the COVID-19 pandemic.
